Key Personnel
David A. Vaughn, MD, FACP - Vice President & Medical Director
Dr. Vaughan began his career in 1976 specializing in
internal medicine in private practice. in 1984, Dr. Vaughan
accepted the position of Associate Medical Director with
First Colony Life Insurance Company. In 1989, he was
promoted to Vice President and Medical Director, and served
in this capacity until 1999. Dr. vaughan served as Consulting Medical
Director at Jefferson Pilot Life Insurance Company from 1999 to 2000.
He joined Fasano Associates in 2000.
Dr. Vaughan has had extensive experience in the medical
underwriting of settlement annuities and substandard life cases.
He has also reviewed contestable death claims, accelerated death
benefit claims, and waiver of premium claims.
Dr. Vaughan received his undergraduate degree from Virginia
Tech in 1970 and his doctor of medicine from the Medical College
of Virginia in 1973. He is board certified in both internal
medicine and insurance medicine, and is a member of the American
Academy of Insurance Medicine, the American College of
Physicians and the American Medical Association.
John R. Iacovino, MD - Medical Director & Senior Consultant
John Iacovino joined Fasano Associates as Medical Director
and Senior Consultant in March 2005. He previously served as Vice
President and Chief Medical Director of New York Life
Insurance Company, New York from 1998 to 2004. From 1986 to
1988, Dr. Iacovino served as the Medical Director of General
Reassurance Corporation, Stamford, Connecticut. He started
his career in private practice at Respiratory
Associates in Norwalk, Connecticut.
Dr. Iacovino is a certified member of the board on Insurance
Medicine, Board of Pulmonary Diseases, the National Board of
Examiners, and Board of Internal Medicine. He received his
doctor of medicine degree in 1967 from the School of
Medicine at Tufts University, after receiving his undergraduate degree from
Middlebury College.
Dr. Iacovino is a member of the American Medical
Association, American Academy of Insurance Medicine (where
he served as President from 1996 to 1997),
American College of Physicians and
American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Iacovino has also written several articles that have been
published in the Journal of Insurance Medicine and other
medical journals.
