Key Personnel
Art Ferris - Director, Life Underwriting
Art Ferris began his career at the American Health and Life
Insurance Company, where he served as a life and health
underwriter from 1969 to 1972. From 1972 to 1977 Mr. Ferris
served as Senior Underwriter at Chesapeake Life, with
responsibility for life and health products, including
sub-standard life cases. Between 1977 and 1998 Mr. Ferris held a
variety of positions at the United Services Life Insurance
Group. His underwriting responsibilities included life, health
and disability income products. In addition, Mr. Ferris was also
responsible for medical training of underwriters and claims
examiners, and also served as liaison between the
brokerage/agency field force and the new business/underwriting
departments.
At Fasano Associates, Art has served as a contract
underwriter for several clients, has performed underwriting
audits of Medicare supplement and long-term care product lines,
and has managed the life insurance underwriting unit.
Mr. Ferris attended Keystone College and Penn State
University. He served as a Senior Medical Specialist in the U.
S. Army, and is a decorated war veteran. Mr. Ferris is a past
President of the Baltimore/Washington Underwriters Association
and has served on the Executive committee of the Middle Atlantic
Medical directors Association.
Harry Hurley - Director, Special Projects
Harry Hurley began his career with Prudential in 1970, where he was promoted to Underwriting
Consultant/Associate Manager. In 1982 he joined Durham Life Insurance Company as
Underwriting Manager. In 1988 he accepted a position with State Mutual Insurance Company
and was promoted to Underwriting Vice President. In 1997 he accepted a position as
Second Vice President, Risk Management with Shenandoah Life Insurance Company and had
responsibility for Individual Underwriting, Policy Owner Service and Claims. In
January 2002 he joined Fasano Associates, where he serves as Director, Special Projects.
Harry holds both the FALU and FLMI designations.
